Been feeling groggy the past few days due to a combination of stomach pains and nauseousness. Hopefully it’s not a relapse of the digestive issue I encountered a few years back. Not that I know what a pregnant women would feel, but I suppose it would be very similar to this constantly wanting to vomit situation. UGH~
Haven’t updated in a while mainly because I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and pondering on how I’m going to approach some of the upcoming changes. It’s not a HUGE change, but nonetheless still a change that requires some adapting and getting used to. I made the decision to have this change so no matter what happens, I won’t regret it. I just can’t help but feel a bit worried that things will not turn out the way I hope it will, especially at a time when I feel I am happiest with myself and the people around me. Maybe I’m just afraid of making a wrong decision. I don’t know. I worry too much.
Anyway, I am quite excited that Wicked (the musical) is returning to Toronto in October. I’m REALLY hoping I’ll get the chance to see it this time since I missed it on Broadway 3 years ago. (Georgia and I had tickets for the show in NY after our cruise and when we arrived at the theatre, we found out the screenwriters went on strike THAT morning! So NO SHOW.) I know tickets are going to be pretty expensive this time so we’ll see what happens. Here’s crossing my fingers that the show doesn’t sell out too quickly.
All summer long I’ve been complaining about not doing anything to enjoy the summer weather (minus those super hot days). I finally had the chance to get a bit of sunshine on my skin this week. The past 3 days have been pretty eventful. Met up with Tommy after work on both Monday and Tuesday for photo shoots. Weather was crappy on Monday so we had to resort to staying indoors. Tuesday was pretty nice. We ended up finding a random park in Stouffville and took some nice photos there. I don’t have the pics because Tommy’s on vacay now and the pics were taken with his camera, but I’ll see if I can share some of them when he gets back.
After the photo shoot, I met up with 2 very special people for dinner: Edison and Charmaine. I hadn’t seen the god brother in close to 11 months, so there was plenty to catch up on. And with Charmaine, we hadn’t seen her in 3 years since she moved to Vancouver and has been crazy busy with work. It was SO NICE seeing the both of them. Originally, we were going to go to Joeys Grill/Lounge for dinner, but there was a crazy wait list so we ended up across the road at Glow. Lovely patio and very nice decor. Food was pretty interesting too. We tried to figure out what came with the bread (refer to the above picture) and were pretty close. The reddish one was made with beets, the orange one with carrots, and the yellow one with butternut squash. We highly recommend the butternut squash. Beware of the carrot…we all thought it was curry haha But above all else, the best was being about to catch up with two good friends over a wonderful dinner.
Charmaine and I thought the washroom doors were pretty funny with the carrot symbol for men and mango(?) for women.
To wrap up my eventful 3 days, I had a follow up appointment with the neurologist today after work. It was an interesting feeling walking into the doctor’s office. Just 4 months ago, I walked into that same office and was barely able to look the receptionist in the eye. For some reason, she looked a lot more friendly this time. Doctor said everything is fine and concluded it was probably an “exotic virus” that caused my double vision. I won’t have to go back to see him again. I guess that’s the end of that :)
The big day’s almost here…August 26, 2010! The first Victoria’s Secret store in Toronto is opening at Yorkdale!!! I’ve been waiting for years, and really…it’s about time. Being a crazy lingerie shopper, I must admit VS is one of my favourite stores. I’m so happy that we’re going to have our very own VS in the city. Yay, that means I don’t have to pay ridiculous shipping anymore! :D
Leaving y’all with a few tunes that I’m spinning this summer…enjoy!
